We would like you to know a little about the members of your board of directors so here is a little about some of our leaders:
My name is PAMELA STUDER and my current position on the board is President. As the president I must see to the over all goals of the community and try to keep us on track to achieve those goals. Right now we are in the middle of merging the Straits Area Emmaus and Northeast Emmanuel Emmaus communities. The only actions left to be done are the legal matters and the combining of our property, such as
mattresses, supplies, and dining room decorations. The president must
make the agenda for the board meetings and must see to it that the meetings are run in an orderly way. This year we made all positions on the board working positions. I as the president must attend all set ups and tear downs of the walks and see to it that the conference room is well stocked and set up correctly. It is my pleasure to serve the community in this way and most importantly it is my pleasure to serve our Lord and Savior in any way He wishes. My family consists
of my husband, who is also on the board, my two sons Ethan and Jeffrey, my four daughters Aimee, Liz, Bekka, and Emily, a goldfish named Cooter, a female guinea pig named Stanley, and our rottweiler named Inga. We are all truly blessed to be able to serve our Lord so freely. May the great I AM bless and keep you always. Remember GLYASDI

My name is CINDY MCCARTHY and I took my walk on August of 2002. My husband Steve and I have been married for 20 years and have 2
girls. My position on the Northern Michigan Emmaus Community is Registration. It is my job to find someone to take on the job of registration for both walks. I also keep the registration totes stocked with all the needs to register both team and pilgrims for both the men’s and the women’s walks. I set up the registration area for both walks.

My name is STEVE MCCARTHY and I took my walk August 2001. I have been married twenty years this past February to my lovely wife, Cindy. We have two girls ages eleven and thirteen. I replaced the person on the
Emmaus board that is in charge of housing. I make sure everything that
is needed for walks gets to the church. I contact volunteers who help
setup for walks and other volunteers to pack everything up after a walk. Right now, I am the registrar for the upcoming men’s walk.

My board position is to organize the gatherings that meet every third Tuesday of the month at the Indian River United Methodist Church.
There are a lot of preparations that go into making a gathering. The things that are involved in gatherings are getting a 4th day speaker, a pastor, and a music leader, oh yeah and how can I forget we also have snacks. Oh yes any volunteers who would like to speak on what God is
doing in their lives, please let me know at scokiloo@att.net or call 231-348-2046, that goes for musicians and pastors too. What I would really like to do is to get a committee together to help plan for the future by booking people in advance so all we need to do is make a phone call to remind them, please let me know if you would be interested. I look forward to seeing you all at the next gathering, and bring a snack to share.
KIM LOOMIS
